This machine does what it is supposed to do, and does it really well. Solid and well made. - Review by

The Atlas Marcato Pasta Machine is a prized possession. It is solid and does the job well. We still buy some pasta from the shops, but when we want something special tasting we make our own. And this machine makes it easy.
We had a couple of less expensive machines in the past, but they were too hard to use, they didn't roll smoothly, the attachment clamp to the table didn't hold it. I don't think they can make a good machine at K-Mart prices
We have an Italian friend and she told us to get a Marcato. I am so glad we did. We now make pasta whenever we want the best, and always make our own lasagna sheets.
You have to be realistic the first few tries may be a bit messy, but after you get the hang of things it gets easier and all of a sudden it is easier to make your own than drive to the Woolies for a package of pasta.
The gears work smoothly, The pasta cutter blades cut smoothly, the clamp that holds it to the bench top really holds it, and it is easy to clean.
Read the instructions carefully and never submerge it in water, and clean it as soon as you can. It is easy to clean (follow directions). I use a paper towel, a small, bristle pastry brush and a slightly dampened cloth on the outside non-mechanical parts.
I didn't buy at OzKitchenware so I can't comment on their service. But their price is great

The pasta maker works pretty much exactly as described. It feels quite solid and sturdy, and the chrome finish is a nice touch, although a bit of a magnet for fingerprints. The rollers, dial and crank feel very smooth and well machined, with no rough edges or movement.

    Just two minor problems:

    1. The clamp is just a tad too small for my bench, so I've been clamping it down on the table instead.
    2. There's a bit of clumping using the tagliatelle attachment, because the rollers aren't cutting through the dough cleanly, but that's probably just an issue with the provided recipe being a bit too moist. Adding flour helps a lot.
